Armory Show 2010 – New York City

In Photojournalism, Travel, University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning on March 17, 2010 at 12:36 am

Last week, I had the pleasure of traveling to New York City with a group of artists from the University of Cincinnati to see the 2010 Armory Show at  Pier 94.  The show ran from March 4-7th and featured an enormous collection of art from the 20th and 21st centuries.  You can see more art in one day at the Armory show, than you might see in a whole year in Cincinnati! So much inspiration and creativity to behold.

It was an honor to photograph a gallery of images for New York City Metromix – which can be seen HERE.

YOGA! Like Rockstars…

In Studio Portraits, University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning on March 16, 2010 at 8:15 pm

For my final project in intermediate photography at the University of Cincinnati – College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning – I captured detailed studio portraits of my friends the YOGA masters, Jen and Mer!

I can’t take much credit here – because it was all them.  I guess I set up the camera, lighting and the backdrop.. but they sort of took over from there.  I used continuous ‘hot lights’ and arranged them in such a way that the background would showcase the human form.  I used a total of 6 lights:  One on each side, a spotlight to the backdrop, soft-box above, and two diffused hot-lights on one side.
